The Problem

Ground Support Systems (GSX) actively recruits candidates from across the nation who specialize in skills as diverse as telecommunications systems repair to cooks.

Despite the organized process for deploying contractors, GSX needed a clear recruitment pipeline which could automate some the initial onboarding for new applicants.

In addition to assisting with the establishment of integrated HR systems, I created a series of seven in depth employee guides which clearly defined each role, associated requirements and first steps to onboard with Ground Support Systems.

This group of handbooks were produced to replace a manual phone call or email exchange in order to deliver the same message; saving days in the applicant evaluation process.

Take a peak at some of the tools that helped automate the entire applicant screening process.

The Outcome

Immediate effects of the new applicant tracking process included reducing onboarding time to one day, with no phone call or email needed to explain the basic elements of the roles candidates were applying for.

The new process also resulted in the immediate use of an automated grading system which made the approval and final offer process much simpler  to track, with automated applicant grading and suggestions based on applicant responses to automated questionnaires, specific criteria found in their resume or notes written about the candidate after the first screening call.

The new process also impacted operations itself; making seasonal activation of hundreds of contractors much easier as data analysis tools were created and used within Applicant Tracker to find the nearest contractors to storms across developing across the country.

Ground Support Systems GSX continues to utilize the created guides and outlined process to successfully recruit and deploy contractors across the nation.
